It is with much saddness that I learned of the decisions of our former moderators. However, I must admit it did not come as a surprise. Frustrated and overworked, it is a matter of time before burn out sets in. Besides, there is life outside of the BBS world and one must not forget that.
I remember signing on just a few hours ahead of 土木 and how we were attracted here by SWY105’s gallant effort of recruitment. I remember the many abortive attempts by Bluesea to lay down the law and how they were totally ignored by many people. More than once I have marvelled at how they were able to keep this vast machinery from not going completely out of whack.
Few people have an inkling of how much work is involved. Take a look at the “number of people on line“ and you will have an idea of the numbers involved. The number of new posts+replies per day simply boggles the mind. The job of keeping the peace, answering urgent requests for help, and at the same time, bringing interesting material for everyone to share, is indeed a Herculean task that few can handle.
I have no doubt that our new moderators are very competent fellows, but the sheer volume of work is quite daunting. Therefore, I call upon every able bodied men and women, cats and mices, dragons and snakes, to rally around our new moderator so they can breath new life into this forum.
Allow me to end my message by quoting, out of context, the translation done by TuMu:
朋友,坚定地相信未来吧
相信不屈不挠的努力...
...相信未来、
Trust firmly in the future, my friends
Trust in our unyielding effort...
...Trust in the future,...

"好说歹说都是个红脸,要不改改吧,一篇文章那么多错误,怎么对得起这张脸阿"
Must-Be, at this forum we only welcome constructive comments, nitpicking attitude however is not something we wish to encourage.
I agree with Eucalyptus that "雨横山2‘s writing is good, not only in English, but, more importantly, in content."
By the way, it would be good to see some of your writings here, if it‘s not too much to ask.

To Must_NOT_Be: why don‘t you write your comments in English in this English forum when everyone writes in ENGLISH? Why don‘t you just take your time writing a good article, which may not need to satisfy everyone but yourself?
Anyone who wants the answers please raise your hands, in some forms. Just let me know.

Red face is not important. Grammar is not important either. What grammar does is to make sure we can express our meaning clearly and accurately. If there is no distortion of meanings, everything is OK. However, we should put our efforts to eliminate simple mistakes. The language is created or developed first, then the grammar. Right? Grammar is evolving in accordance with the evolvement of language.
Life is short. If you give a slice of your life to wrath, then you have less time in happiness.
By the way, "every" should be applied to singular noun. This is definitely right. But considering there are many kinds of cats and mice in this world, I think we can apply "every" to "cats" and "mice" when we refer them to a particular kind of cats and mice. For example, we say bird flu may be a grave danger to humans rather than bird flu may be a grave danger to humen.

I‘m very glad to see many familiar faces are still here. And I must say the moderators did a good work in last year. I personally appreciate it. Thanks.
And I have another word about majors. In my opionion, there is no difference between English majors or English non-majors. We are all English learners. Why those major are seen better than others? Simple. They put more time in English.
I‘m not a professional soccer player. But I‘m really thinking and practicing hard on how to passing and controlling the ball. A coach from a professional team was shocked when he saw me play last year when I was in a non-professional league. I am not reluctant to say that I am a soccer major.
So don‘t be afraid. Every English learner or lover should be confident to say I am as good as English majors.

Of course I made those mistakes. Of course they are inexcusable. Everyone who have been here for more than a year would remember the numerous times I mentioned about my deficiencies. And everyone would remember you have a special grudge against me. Everyone knows by now you only use this “grammatical mistakes” as a pretext to involve me in a fight. Everyone know you never picked on other "red face" compositions except those of mine.
You have called me a liar and a hypocrite and labled what I have written ( “The Garden”) as hate literature. Your have been on my case almost immediately after I showed up on what you considered as your exclusive stomping ground. I never bothered to respond to your accusation since doing so would have given you more chances to follow up with whatever you had in mind.
So why not just come out and say directly why I bother you so much; why you find my presence here so irritable to you.

"在两句话中夹一句毫无理由的东西,企图蒙混过关。"
--------------------------------------------------------
病句。搭配有严重遗传性问题。“一句” 不可以与"东西" 搭配。作者的汉语基本功不可上台面。 连汉语都未能学好,何况英语乎?
此乃典型的 destructive mindset 的问题。

Aha, my dear old chap Mr. Yu:
I like your comment: 阎王好见,小鬼难缠! So true in life, isn‘t it?
You‘re very special. Thanks for your comments and all your consistent effort in support of the English learning cyber community, despite your "deficiencies" which you never even tried to hide.
Everyone knows about your "deficiencies" that come hand in hand with your close-to-native-speaker command of the English language. I personally have learned a lot from you -even from your linguistic errors from time to time.
From a linguistic point of view, there are errors and there are errors. Even native speakers of a language make errors, and "fossilized" errors tend to die hard. Let‘s be honest and realistic. I don‘t expect linguistic perfection from people like you. It‘s unlikely that some of your errors could ever be eradicated in your life time. But that should not (and I know it will not) deter you from contributing, as always, your wealth of knowledge and experience (including language experience) to the world of English learning. I know you‘re attentive to what you hear about your "deficiencies", but to comments from shitty grudge-carriers, please don‘t take it too seriously. Laugh it off! I‘m glad we see eye to eye and know very well that 阎王好见,小鬼难缠!
Keep up your great work, my friend. You have my support! Take care.

1. You covet the post of moderator subconsciously, and whenever there is a chance for you to prove your innocence, you jump at it without much scruple. :-)
2.Your mind is full of those wishful thoughts about becoming one of the 斑竹s of the No. 1 BBS in China, so you are seeing things, to the extent that you, in your imagination, added a big 你 at the beginning of my statement. 
3. You are critically ill, due to too much critical analysis. Lol.
